The irony in this sign is that there's hardly any water in there these days. I think the removal of the letter 'D' to make 'ANGER' was deliberate as this reservoir has been the subject of much debate and protest in recent months.
The owners were draining it last year as it would cost too much to make repairs to protect against flooding. I'm not sure where it stands at the moment but the water levels were certainly very low on the day I took these photos.
