Allied Photocolor is a full-service digital imaging center. Allied’s roots go back to 1940 when it opened as a commercial photography studio. The photographers shot for most of the major corporations in St. Louis being published in Life, Look, National Geographic, and major newspapers across the country. The studio was phased out in 1965 and the Photocolor lab was opened. The Allied portion came from acquiring assets. It has been producing traditional Color and B&W images for 45 years. Twenty years ago, in 1990 we opened the Digital Imaging Center, producing economical, high-quality scans and direct photo imaging using lasers. Hybrid technology of writing files to film was offered and there was a new application called Photoshop.
In 1995 Allied moved to its present location at 4221 Forest Park. Fabulous Watercolor, Canvas, Fabric and other media keep photography fresh, bringing digital art into the physical realm and create closer reproduction of existing art than ever before.
Our goal is to offer a wide array of products and services so you can make it a “one stop shop” for all your imaging needs. Services include: roll-up displays, convention and exhibit products, installation, framing, canvas gallery wraps, giclée prints, banners, silver photo printing, artwork photographed, mounting, laminating, and traditional film services. A digital kiosk is located in the lobby for holiday cards, announcements or more input into your imaging project.
An added 8 foot, wide-format printer runs an exciting variety of materials, produces grand banners and vibrant fabrics. The inks are eco-safe with longer life outdoors without lamination. It compliments our fine art pigmented printer. The latest in large scanning technology was added to capture artwork, renderings, and three dimensional subjects, creating extremely large files with accurate color. Also added is a new custom matting and framing department along with the next generation of proofing and photo output.
We are committed to offering the finest quality at value pricing.
