Color photographic prints have always been the pride of our services. Whether they are optical darkroom prints or digital photographic prints our technicians are true artists in producing them for you. Our state-of-the-art Light Jet 430 produces the finest digital prints available anywhere.
Film processing is big at Light Waves. We love the look film gives images, there is still something about it that makes it stand out. We use Refrema dip and dunk processors for our color negative processing (C41) and our color slide processing (E6). We also use dip and dunk to process B&W film. Light Waves can accommodate most film formats: 126, 35mm, 120 medium format, 4×5 sheet film, and 8×10 sheet film. For fine art photographers who shoot large format sheet film Light Waves has a unique Refrema processor. This processor was specially modified by Refrema and Kodak to give the best possible agitation during the development of 8×10 and 10×12 color negative film.
Welcome to Light Waves, San Francisco’s premier full service pro-lab. During these rapidly changing and economically challenging times in the photo industry, the commitment I made to our clients of quality and service still is paramount. That promise of quality and service has taken us from our humble beginnings in 1985 to our premier status today.
Quality: Over the past 5 years San Francisco has lost most of its full service labs: Pro Color, Color 2000, Custom Process and Robyn Color, to name a few. Light Waves’ outstanding quality has been the major factor in our growth and longevity.
Service: Light Waves’ service is second to none. Open from 8:30am to 6pm in San Francisco to best serve the needs of you, our clients. Friendly and attentive customer service that is always happy to help you. Whether you are a seasoned professional, an amateur photographer or a non-photo person we will take the time to advise you and answer your questions. Don’t be surprised if after a few times we recognize you and call you by name. To be of service for clients in the East Bay; Light Waves has a store in Oakland too.
