Create a Gritty Frame with a Peel Effect for Your Lomo'Instant Snaps

1

We recently came across a great tipster featuring a rad new way to punch up your Lomo’Instant photos and we wanted to pass it on. Within a matter of minutes and very little effort, you can transform your photos with a gritty border and some old school character. Read on to find out more!

We really love the look and thought it would be a fantastic way to experiment with some our Lomo’Instant photos. The process requires only a few items you probably having lying around your house and is very simple. Grab a pair of scissors, a knife of some kind, an Instax photo and you’re ready to roll!

First, you’ll need to cut off two small strips from the white area on the top and bottom of the photo. Then you can then remove the backing from the photograph. After you scratch the four black tabs from each corner of the photo on the back, flip the photo over and pull the white border off and you’re basically finished! To complete the process, use some double sided tape to attach the photo to durable surface like cardstock, as we found the edges of the photo tend to curl once released from the backing.

If you’re interested in a step-by-step look at the process, you can find the original article by tipster author, Jana, here, or check out this detailed video by Jessica here. We were super excited and grateful when we stumbled across these detailed and helpful guides, so a big thanks to Jana and Jessica. We can’t wait to use this more in the future!

So what are you waiting for? Grab your Lomo’Instant and go grunge up your photos!
