Doll Up Your Transparent Coffee Table with Used Film Cartridges

If you're like me who has a film lab at home, you'll know the feeling of having too much film rolls lying around the house. Instead of throwing them out, you can use them to decorate the way I fill our transparent coffee table with them!

Since I started developing my own films at home, I couldn’t bear to throw away the empty 35mm cartridges. Aside from this necklace, chess set and frame, I’d like to do something like them but was too lazy to do it.

Inspiration struck when I opened the top cover of the table. I thought about how there was just an empty space in there. I put mixed films in the table because there wasn’t enough cartridges of the same brand to fill the entire table. With each film I process, I open the cover of the coffee table and just chuck the empty cartridge in. Every weekend, the pile just continues to grow.

When we look outside of the table, the film looks like colorful trinkets. This little project will look even more beautiful when the table is completely filled with film cartridges.
