Starting With Window Light Portraits

Did you know that when shooting portraits with window light, it's important to know whether it's an East, West, North, or South facing window? I didn't too! Here's a short video explaining why.

As Lomographers, we love to shoot with natural light, especially with portraits. It’s free, practically always available, and extremely flattering. It sounds simple, but apparently, we’ve been doing it wrong! In this video by the Chicago Photography Academy, they explain how to get the most out of your portrait sitting. The video covers the importance of the orientation of the window, the time, posing, and other techniques in giving you the best possible portrait. Enjoy!
