DIY Toy Film Canister Penguin

Want a easy to make toy for your kids or a simple decorative ornament for your desk? Try making this DIY penguin using a film canister!

Your film canisters have plenty of uses aside from just storing film. All you need is a little imagination! For today, we have a simple project for you or your kids to do – a DIY toy penguin!


  • Black film canister
  • Two googly eyes
  • Orange and white craft foam
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors


  1. Cut the canister lid in two. This will serve as the wings
  2. Turn the canister upside down. Glue the eyes near the top.
  3. Cut up and glue the craft foam to form the beak, belly, and feet.
