Finding instant film for large format cameras is a task of mythic proportions nowadays, so why don't you make your own instead? Read on!

Photo from Instructables

While not as instant as classic instant film, this DIY solution will give you a positive AND a negative in just 8 minutes. Not a bad trade off, I must say. Here’s what you’ll need in order to pull this off:

Materials:

  • Ilford 4X5 film FP4
  • Ilford RC paper
  • Kodak HC 110
  • Ilford rapid fixer
  • Ammonia
  • Methylcellulose
  • Freezer paper
  • Heat sealer
  • Black paper
  • Electric tape

Once you’ve scrounged all the materials together, head over to Instructables for the complete set of instructions, as it can get complicated in a hurry.
