Camera Modification Tips: Holga Splitzer

It's been probably done before, so I'll not claim it as totally my idea but it's a nice little addition to your shooting with holga.

You know that little Holga cap you always forget on the camera while shooting, or am I the only one with that problem? Well, it happened one too many times and I was wondering if I should throw it out for good or if I should make something out of it. And I totally made something out of it.

What you need:

  • a Holga (I used Holga 135 but you could probably use Holga 120 also)
  • its lens cap
  • scissors

Take your Holga cap in one hand, scissors in the other and make this:

Now you have all you need and you just have to shoot. Attach your cap, make a photo, than turn your cap to the other side and shoot again. There are two choices. You can either make cool splitzer photos or you can just turn your film into 72 photos film like Diana Mini cameras do!
