Shoot Now, Eat Later: How to be Discreet Photographing the Moment when on a Date

What happens when you are on a date but you desperately want to photograph the moment? Here are some tips on what you can do when your date’s not looking.

There are times when your Lomo addiction can get in the way of a date. While my wife approves of my Lomo addiction, there are still moments that I have to put the camera down when I’m with her in public. But here are some ways to scratch the itchy trigger finger.

First thing to know is that you must apply Rule #7 – Be Fast! in such situations. Second thing is that you need to get your timing right, as in, snap when your date’s NOT looking or left the table to powder her nose. With these two conditions met, you can then do the following:

  1. Snap the food

  1. Snap what you see around you
  1. Snap the scenery if you are seated next to the window

Guys, I hope these tips are useful. Oh, but the most important tip is to bring a compact camera.

    Additional tip:
Tell them to close their eyes, and take a photo of them with a nice quiet camera like the La Sardina (and make a noise at the same time if you have to)
Then lean forwards and give them a kiss ;)
