The tip I'm going to share with you is very easy, fast and, in my opinion, gives really bright results. You only need black and white photos and permanent markers.

The last black and white film that I picked up from the lab didn’t make an impression on me. It was OK, but it was quite plain. When I got home, I saw the markers with which I had painted a fabric purse, and I thought, why shouldn’t I try?

You only need to color the bright parts of the photos. You can also try on the dark parts, but it doesn’t look that good because it doesn’t stand out so much.
The girl’s scarf on the second level is painted with red, but it doesn’t stand out because of the darkness.
Here are some more photos:
If you want to try with something else than markers, you can also try with fabric. One little drop of glue will do for it to stick.

I am already thinking about how to keep on decorating photos with other materials, I hope that I can write soon a second part.

@bunnandbird thanks for the comment! I colour the photo itself! I don't have scanner for negatives so I couldn't try that possibility...

This is so fun! Try it with watercolors too if you can. I did that on this album http://www.lomograph(…)903910-a-mo but they were color prints, not black and white. I will try this with markers too!

@julia-b great pics! I'm gonna try it! :)
