Have A Corky Christmas!

The holidays are upon us and we're just buzzing to partake in all the festivities! Inspired by the Lomography Sparkling Editions, we're excited to try out 10 creative DIY craft projects that are sure to spread some holiday cheer. And all you need to get started are what you're left with when your fun night ends: corks from bubbly and vino!

Here are more cool and creative DIY ideas you can try with cork, and just in time for the holidays!

Fancy a one-of-a-kind tree this year? Then why don’t you make a Cork Christmas Tree? On top of being cheap and chic, it’s a space-saver too! (More room for bundles of gifts, yes?)

If you prefer fresh greenery, make Cork Ornaments to hang around the tree instead! Get creative and customize each trinket with your own concept or color scheme. Candy canes, grapes, wreaths, mini trees, toys, etc.

Don’t forget Santa’s four-legged helpers, the reindeer! They could make for adorable ornaments too, as well as tabletop decor. Better yet, why not try creating an entire holiday town using Cork Creatures?

A Cork Wreath is another nifty decoration idea! Embellish it with different materials, add elements from your holiday traditions, and make it your own. Make it as elaborate or as simple as you want as the cork’s neutral color makes it easy to customize and since it’s not a plant, it will last longer!

Speaking of plants, Mini Cork Planters make for lovely room decor that works all year round and spruces up virtually any living space! Read up on how to grow a desktop garden and have a pocket-sized patch of green in no time!

If you don’t celebrate Christmas, quirky decor can still be yours with Cork Candle Holders. Try different heights, methods, and containers but make sure the cork doesn’t touch the flame! Safety first.

Cork Letters are a cool way to mark your territory and are also great props to use in pictures! Imagine if you had an entire alphabet of them; you can form words and greetings with friends which would make for epic souvenir photos!

Lomographers would also appreciate the obvious cork craft: Cork Boards. The possibilities are endless and you can make any shaped board you want and display virtually any pin-able object you desire! Photos, negatives, tickets, notes, money, flowers, all sorts of mementos!

Another easy project perfect for Lomographers? Cork Magnets, of course! Just like the cork board but with a limitation to your fridge or other magnetic surfaces, you can exhibit nearly anything you want! Your fridge is your gallery. Make a LomoWall, why don’t you?

Or make Cork Art! Get inspired by these amazing wine cork portraits by Scott Gundersen and show us what you’ve got!

Or toast to the holiday season with the new Lomography Sparkling Editions and make some quirky and corky analogue art of your own!

Wow, that is a great idea. I make my own wine and this would be a great little accent to have down by my bar at home :)

@denisesanjose I love the letters made of corks. I have a big wallspace near my bar at home and I think I might do something with that. Also, I might try and get some pics of my apple-wine :)) lol
