Here is a short tipster about using Fujichrome Astia 100 together with rodinal! Hope you like it as much as I do!
There was a couple of articles on this theme half of the year ago. Here are the notes of chemists:
№1
№2
Some days ago I wanted to make an experiment, I wanted to ruin the film voluntarily. I decided to put 8-years-delayed Fujichrome Astia 100 (120) slide into Rodinal..
1. Dilute rodinal 1+50 (approximately: 240 ml of water + 5 ml of concentrate);
2. I had been developing the film for 12 minutes, the temperature was about 40 degrees;
3. I had been fixing it for 8 minutes.
The negative turned to be very dark.
I have mixed feelings about the result I have got. I have not understood whether I like it or not yet. Whether it is necessary to repeat it or not. Anyway, I had satisfied my strong desire to make an experiment for some time..

I think you did everything right in the developing. Only the digital editing process still needs improvement. Two clicks in Picasa (1. turn into b/w | 2. one click optizing for exposure) and the 2nd image looks like that: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5devtnpkxyml9y9/optimized_picture.jpg (sample)
