Extreme X-Pro with the Horizon Kompakt

If you like extreme X-Pro effects that will make your pictures look like they were shot on another planet, load your Horizon Kompakt with a slide film. For what I've experienced so far, all of them give crazy X-Pro results!

The first time I got the extreme X-Pro effect was with a Kodak Elitechrome ED 200. I was shooting graffiti. I wanted to do this for a while and I got very disappointed with the results. The colors have nothing to do with the originals! I thought there was something wrong with my scanning so I took the film to the lab but got the same results. I became convinced the film had some problem.

Thinking there was something wrong with that film, I continued to X-Pro slide films on my Horizon… and things got crazier and crazier!

I think this happens because this camera tends to overexpose pictures and even so I can’t resist a double exposure. Since I live in a sunny place and the Horizon Kompakt only has f/8 aperture, there is not much I can do… besides keep on shooting!

To go really extreme, I suggest you to try something already crazy. The Kodak Ektachrome 100 VS (meaning Very Saturated!) made my jaw drop.

Although I knew I probably wouldn’t get the amazing purples of the Fuji Sensia 100 I love with this camera, the results turned out really surprising! They look crazy but I ended up liking some of this strong magenta shots!

I enjoy most the results of this camera using low ISO color negative or redscale so that’s what I’m feeding her regularly now. But once in a while I feel curious to see how a slide film will turn out x-proed with this amazing camera.

The next slide film I’ll try is a Fuji Velvia 50… and I think this time I will NOT cross-process, I have a feeling it will work well… Do you have some E6 slide Horizon shots? Or some extreme x-pro pictures? Show us! :)

The Horizon Kompakt makes it easy for everyone to shoot fantastic panoramic images. With fixed focus and aperture settings, all you have to do is point and shoot! Get your own Horizon Kompakt now!
