I always thought being vertically challenged was a disadvantage in life, until I learned to put my short limbs to good use while learning to focus my LC-A!
Since the majority of my lomo experience had been using the forgiving focus zones of Holgas, Dianas, and Fisheye cameras, focusing the LC-A at 0.8m was one of the biggest adjustments I had to make when learning how to compose a shot. After several blurry and disappointing test rolls, I briefly considered carrying around a measuring tape to find the perfect 0.8m distance to my subjects.
Failing to find a measuring tape and only finding a 12-inch ruler, I went to plan B— which was to measure and cut a string in the length needed and attach it to my camera, as mentioned in numerous tipsters. As it turns out, 0.8m converts to 31.4961 inches, a number much more familiar to me and my short, short legs.
Exhibit A: My short legs
Now, for all you tall people out there, 31 inches may not mean anything special to you— but for shorties like me, it just so happens to be the magic number when finding pants! A 31-inch inseam can be tricky to accommodate when pants shopping, because “average” sizes typically run 32-37 inches (for women). So, what does all this crazy talk about pants mean?
What it means for me, is that if I want my subject to be in focus at 0.8m, all I have to do is be able to kick it!
I kick these tiny bonsai trees!
I kick my cat!
I kick this statue!
I kick my boyfriend!
I kick this horse!
In order to find my focus, all I have to do is extend my 31-inch leg, and kick it!
Disclaimer: I do not promote kicking trees, cats, statues, boyfriends, or horses.

Hahaa love it!! I also use my body length and arm length for focus distance :)

what a fun Tipster, hahahahahahaw!
maybe the next best thing would be to stretch your arms for measuring the focus length, mine approx. 80 cm, so pretty much convenient. Not recommended to punch your subject though X D

You realize this means we require post-kick shots of horrified people, pets and objects flying out of frame.
:D

I am a shorty and thanks for this tip. I have just got a Belair and have had a shock compaired to my Holga, so kicking or even can-can dancing might help : )
