If you are looking for some inspiration for your next photo project, grab your favourite camera and films, and visit your closest amusement park! You might come up with great colourful pictures worthy of the handpicked section.

Everyone has a preferred subject for their Lomographs and if I had to choose one, I think I’d say big wheels and merry-go-rounds are my favourite. With their colourful big eyecatching structures, they are perfect to be captured on film! But, unless there is an amusement park near you, they are not frequently available for being photographed. Maybe that is one of the reasons why they make so beautiful lomographs. So this is what you’ll need to do next time the fun fair comes to your town:
- Prepare your beloved analogue cameras and an assortment of your favourite film rolls.
- Head for the fairground and spot your subject.
- Get as close as you like. Ready? Then, get closer.
- Shoot according to the Golden Rules and enjoy! Or forget the Golden Rules, shoot and enjoy!
Have a look to my favourite big wheels and merry-go-rounds shots from the community and you’ll see. They look great in all formats:
And sprocket holes look much better in their company too.
But, in my opinion, they are cross process and multiple exposure’s best friends:
And of course, you’ll love them when shot at night. It doesn’t matter if you use a tripod or not!
Experiment and have fun and don’t forget to show us your results!
