Bicycle Travel Ideas with Clamp-Tripod

Looking for a fun way to capture your travels this Summer? Check out a super simple idea after the jump!

June is upon us and everyone is out!

Over here at the NYC Lomography Gallery Store Gramercy, we can’t pass up a good opportunity to capture all of those spontaneous moments, or even your daily moments that you always see. Ever thought about taking a picture to capture the magical way that you see those things but your friends are stuck in the dark? Summer is the best time to pick up your Lomographic light styluses, no matter which one that might be.

This technique will adhere to 9 out of the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography. We used one of our new La Sardina Beach Editions

…and the Clamp Tripod to outfit our bicycle with the perfect traveling companion.

  • First: We’re going to need to secure our tripod to our bicycle. The clamp tripod with securely fasten to any round or flat surface that will fit between it’s greedy circumference.

To do this we will use electrical tape to insure a surface with maximum grip. It has enough surface tension that the rubber grips on the cornered inner edge will buddy up and be super solid. The threaded fastener will also cuddle up closely with which ever surface you chose to tape up.

  • Second: After fastening, just screw on your camera of choice. Most all cameras have the same sized screw mount on the bottom. The lighter the camera the better for this rig. I plan on going on rough trips this Summer on all terrains. The La Sardina Beach Edition is a perfect wide-angle light camera for this purpose. you’ll get really cool motion blur on your images as you zoom down those hills maxing out at 60mph with a shutter that only has the speed of 1/100 of a second.
  • Third: Go and shoot! You are now fully equipped to snap all of those traveling picks that you missed out on last Summer!

Upload your travel picks and share them with us Lomography NYC Gallery Gramercy and me Joey!

Happy shooting!

Nice one. I tried it by attaching it under the seat http://www.lomograph(…)os/16125588

This looks great. I would suggest getting a shutter cable and taping it down the handlebar for some safe hands-free shots. lol
