A Beautiful Double Exposure Holiday Movie

What happens when you mix a photo camera, a movie camera, lights, family and champagne in one analogue movie? Easy: you get a lovely and unique double exposure film. Do you want to know how I did it? Keep on reading!

1. I loaded my LC-A+ with a Lomography Film 800 35mm. I have to say that I thought I was using Lomography X-Pro Slide 200 35mm, so I set the camera at 400 ISO, but I was lucky enough (once again) and everything turned out ok!

2. I took photos of my Christmas Tree. Different angles, different focus, some “complete photos”, some “split photos” (I did the split with my finger, up, down, right, left, diagonal).

Confession: When I shot the photos of the lights I wasn’t thinking in a LomoKino Movie. I was thinking in a filmswap, but when I realized the ISO mistake, I left the roll on the shelf because I thought it wouldn’t work. In New Year’s Eve I saw the little roll there, abandoned, so I decided to load it in my LomoKino!

3. I loaded my LomoKino with the exposed film.

4. I put the Fritz The Blitz Flash on my LomoKino.

5. And I shot a lovely Christmas movie in my grandmother’s house on New Year’s Eve.

I love the result. I think it’s a beautiful family film. Don’t you?

Other thing I really like is that almost each frame is a great double exposure portrait! That’s why I decided to use them as ‘closing credits’ with everyone’s names.

Happy New Year 2012 my dear LomoFriends! Keep on shooting!
