The Mug that Keeps on Giving

What you need:

  • A Mug
  • Tissue Paper
Need a quick solution for wrapping a small gift? Maybe some earnings you would like to camouflage as something else? Look no further than your kitchen cabinets. Clear out the matching mugs from your shelves and way in the back, that spot where you always “forget” to clean, chances are you will have a mug you can use as a present holder. Step one, check!

All those extra clothes you bought yourself this holiday season, it is the season for giving, and who said you can’t give yourself stuff too! Chances are you got so much tissue paper with those that you are not sure what to do with it. Well we knew it would come in handy…. take a sheet or two of that, loosely wrap your present, put that in the mug, and your good to go! Step two, check! And you are giving two presents in one!

The where did that come from gift

What you’ll need:

  • Cardboard box
  • Masking tape
  • Markers
  • Optional a printer and paper
No, we are not suggesting you put your children in a box. But this year you will have surely gotten at least one box in the mail. Time to work your magic and make that box the present everyone wants. Remember those old trunks full of stamps and signs from exotic places? Make your gift look like that! Go online and search for some inspiration on old stamps and postage signs. Either print them out and stick them on the box or re-do them in your own style. And presto, the gift that traveled around the world!

The just what you were looking for gift

What you’ll need:

  • Newspaper, preferably the classifieds
  • Red, Green, and Black Marker
  • Tape
It’s time to put all those old papers to use, take some classifieds, circle some of the better listings in green and cross out some of the bad ones in red (great wrapping for hinting that someone should get a job). Once you are done making the paper look festive, wrap as many gifts as possible. More of a word fanatic? Find some cross word puzzles in the stash of papers you have and fill in a couple of blanks! Not only will your original present be wrapped, you’ll be offering the person you gift hours of information. And if you want to take it a step further, go ahead and play as a group!

Got any more ideas? Share them with us! Write up a blog post, comment on this page with the title of your project and the link to your blog! Happy Wrapping!
