Instax Mini Table

After racking up a year of Instax Mini photos, I needed to find a solution for how to both display them and keep them out of the way. My solution was to create a custom coffee table using my favorite Instax shots.

The Diana F+ Instant Back has been one of, if not my favorite, Lomography purchases ever. I’ve had more fun taking shots of and with my friends in the last year with it than any other camera, but I began to realize that my excitement for shooting was generating lots of photos that were lying around without a home or means for display. After some thought, I created a solution that proved to satisfy both the need to display the photos and also keep them away and safe.

With the help of santorinihippie (who provided the table we used), I arranged my favorite shots into a pattern based on overall photo color. It isn’t perfect, but it makes for a really fun real life Lomowall, but on a coffee table. From there we carefully taped down the photos squarely to the table with double sided tape to hold them all in place. Once they were all in place, I went to a local hardware store (Lowe’s) and had them cut a piece of thick plexiglass to cover the table top exactly. I attached some adhesive rubber bumpers to each of the 4 corners and placed it on top of the photos, and that was it. I now have a unique table with photos of all of my friends and family that still allows me to kick my feet up without damaging any of my photos. Another plus is that since we used double sided tape to adhere the photos to the table, changing them out if we want is pretty easy. So if we ever took new photos that fit the design better, they can be integrated with little effort.

This is a super easy do-it-yourself project that will leave you with a very personalized piece of home decor. And if you regularly shoot Instant photos, I highly recommend you give it a try.

The Diana F+ is a new twist on the ‘60s classic cult camera. Famous for its dreamy and soft-focused images, the Diana F+ is now packed with extra features such as panorama and pinhole capabilities. Available in our Online Shop.

The Fuji Instax Mini 7S has simple exposure control, automatic built-in flash, and uses credit card-sized Fuji Instax Mini film. And you’re in luck, because this camera is now available in fresh white! Check it out with the rest of our Instant cameras here!

Thank you for the response, I'm glad people like the concept. A shower curtain would also be quite amazing, good call on that.
