Frames always make photos look more interesting. However, I don't have time to drill holes in my walls and buy frames. So, I decided to make my own!
Frames always make photos look more interesting. However, I don’t have time to drill holes in my walls and buy frames. So, I decided to make homemade ones!
The first frame I made is really simple. All you need are a couple of strips of negatives that you don’t want, some tape, and your photo of choice.
The first thing to do is to tape four negatives together, about half an inch larger than the photo.
Then, tape the photo…
(To make sure that the negatives don’t flop around, it is easiest to tape the whole thing to a wall.)
The second frame, the nature frame, I made is also fairly simple. However, you’ll need to have prepared in advance with some pressed leaves and flowers in a heavy book. After they’ve been left in there a while, they become very thin and filmsy, but also beautiful.
You’ll also need very wide, transparent tape, and of course a photo (preferably one on a plainer scale so it doesn’t clash with the frame.)
First off, place long strips of tape around the back of the photo, half on the photo and half off. Make sure to leave the sticky side facing forward! All you have to do after that is to carefully place the pressed leaves and flowers onto the tape. Be careful not to crush or rip the leaves! And try not to get too many finger prints on the tape, otherwise the frame will look dirty.
After you’ve covered as much of the tape as you can, you’re set! Tape the thing to the wall and it’ll look as if the flowers are glued to the wall!
