By a several special requests, here's how the fractal doubles were made. This really too simple for a Tipster!
The fractal doubles were made by generating some fractal graphics with Chaos Pro 4.0 (downloaded from www.chaospro.de), photographing them off my old CRT monitor with the brightness set at “painful” with an old SLR camera, rewinding back to beginning, then going about the neighbourhood shooting flowers and things.
The film was developed and scanned at a CVS Photo Kiosk. The negatives came out rather dense. The girl at CVS said that, when they scanned the negatives, their machine (a Noritsu) applied “auto correction” to the .jpg files. The results are as you see them. Those of you who have your own scanners can scan and correct to your own tastes, which is much better. However, I love the results. The CVS girls did a good job, but I think I need to get my own scanner as well.
