What can I say, simple sells folks! Easy as pie, just take some light colored women’s nylons, stretch them over your camera lens, and shoot away! Your result will be photos with a soft haze, softly blending colors, and as long as you focus correctly, the nylon takes away the sharp edge from your photo while they still staying in good focus.
Do keep in mind that this effect will be a trial and error and it works good in some situations. Sometimes I think it will turn out great, and I end up with a picture that just looks over exposed, when other times in very similar lighting situations, it turns out fantastic. Try not to take photos into the sun, I have found this will cause a clouded look. Also, fine details can sometimes be lost using this technique, so if in doubt, taking the stocking off and snapping an extra shot just in case may be a good idea.
I have included the following photos to show what each photo will look like with and without the stocking, so you can clearly see which ones work and which ones do not.
I think the Lomo LC-A well with this technique because of the good quality of the lens. The better the lens, the better your result!
