The Upside Down Fish Mask

One day I got the idea to put clear tape on the inside of my Diana F+ to see how it would effect the images. But, the more I thought about it the more I realized what a boring experiment it would be. So, I decided I would put my very limited drawing skills to the test. For some reason the first thing that came to mind was a fish. So I got out a permanent marker and drew a fish onto a small piece of clear tape. Next, I had to decide where I was going to place the piece of tape to achieve the best result on the final image. I decided the right side of frame would be as good as any, so that is what I chose. Here is where I made my mistake.
I did not think about how the lens actually sees an image, so I put the fish right side up. So I went about taking my pictures around the house and when I got the negatives back I noticed that the fish was upside down. At first I was disappointed with my mistake, but then I realized I had learned from what I had did wrong. Although the pictures did not turn out the way I intended, I learned a valuable lesson by trying this mask experiment. So, try putting your own drawings into your photos and see what kind of cool images you can come up with. Just remember to draw upside down.
