Note: You will only be able to do this modification if your Actionsampler has 3 stripes in the bottom left corner!

Have you ever wanted to use the Actionsampler at night? Not only for close up portraits but rather those long distance night scenes, cars rushing by and panoramas of the city skyline? For this modification you will need:
- 1 Actionsampler (of course!)
- Very small and tiny Phillips Screwdrivers
- A small caliper
- Some black tape
- About 15 – 30 minutes of your time

- Put the Actionsampler in front of you and open it. You will see 3 screws right in front of you (2 on the left, 1 on the right) – there is one more hiding inside of the film coil. Unscrew all of them and keep the screws in a safe place where you can´t loose them.
- Lift up the black inner part from the outer shell (don´t forget to remove the film coil).
This can be a bit tricky – be patient – after a while you have two separated parts in front of you. Be careful – don´t loose the lenses! - Unscrew the screws 1-5 as shown on the picture. Be careful with the little springs.
- Remove the part with the lenses from the rest of the camera. As I aid careful with the springs -
They should stay in order. When you are done, you have two pieces again and it should look like this. - Take the smaller part, carefully remove the spring. Then remove the disc and put the spring back.
- Alright, the most difficult part is done! Now you have to get the stuff back in order again. Just repeat steps 1 – 4, but the other way around.
- Put some black tape over the lenses and remove it whenever you are ready to shoot. Make sure you have a stable surface for your camera when doing long exposures. Since the Actionsampler is lightweight you can also use the tape to glue your camera somewhere on the street, like a fence or whatever.
Have fun!
