Tipster Of The Week: Double Fun!
written by scapegoat on January 11th, 2009 , 22 comments (8 votes)

With everything else new at this time of the year, the tipster never fails to have its own renewal (but of course!) and makes everything more faster, feels stronger and looks better than ever before!

So moving on from where we left previously, let’s start with something impressive:

DOUBLE FUN! by ndroo

Randomly stick some unexposed 35mm film strips on your monitor/LCD (or lightbox. Open up an empty blank document full screen and turn the brightness of your monitor/LCD to the max. Now take some images of the empty strips of film. Feel free to mess around with the layout of the film strips. Once you are done with the roll, rewind and re-load it for a 2nd exposure. Amaze yourself with cool and random results! Have fun!

Which makes this our Tipster Of The Week! Congratulations to ndroo for giving us something of a new trick! 10 piggies will come knocking your Lomohome and a winner’s badge, Yay!

DIY or lo-fi, we want to see yours! Twenty pink n’ porky friends will be coming your way if you send us a modification with instructions and photos. whereas 5 little ones will be at your disposal if you have an idea for the Lomographic crew to try out. Put your minds to work and send lucas.jakobsson@lomography.com or jason.delosreyes@lomography.com an email with your ideas.

    @ndroo, zulupt & adi_totp:

    It's because this is lomotipster of the day... Tipster is a new thing which is what the old labrats + Holga/Diana modification was + more.

    Hey ndroo,
    I really like the pics and the idea but I can not get one thing.
    Why is the white background staying white when you expose it for the second time?

    I checked your lomohome and there are a few pics where everything is exposed.

    What´s the trick to let the white background still stay white after the second run?

    @eyecon : Sorry for the very late reply. I forgot this post existed. Hahaha. Well I made sure the monitor was bright enough to render the outside parts are already exposed (all white and bright) and so during the 2nd exposure ... those white parts will not capture anything anymore. Hope this helps.
