Because now we are going to get where it all started - to our motherland NATURE! Yes, it's right, Nature is our second mother, so the best way to find the link with it is in the traditional exhibition of Agriculture and Forestry "What You Sow... 200X" (X depends on the year of the exhibition).

Trains - “Die Bahn”

1 voteWhat do we do when we have to get from point A to point B? We choose the vehicle... Options are endless, but we all know, that planes are fast, but expensive, and on the other hand - cars are cheap, but slow... What to do? Choose trains!!! There is a huge railway web all around Europe, and lots of companies offer different "good deals" for traveling at the very low cost. My favorite is the German Railway, or "Die Bahn" as it is called in German.

Philippine Tricycle

by cruzron
posted about 1 year agoWe all know (well most people) that the quintessential Philippine way of getting around is with the legendary Jeepney. However it is unavoidable that in some cases that we would need to go someplace that won't have the luxury of space. We would require something a little more compact which is what the Philippine tricycle is all about. It is basically a cheap motorcycle (in same cases just a bicycle) welded with an aluminium sidecar.

Paddle Steamer “Ryde Queen”

by janette
posted about 1 year agoThis poor abandoned ship is steeped in history. She was built in 1937 for the Southern Railway Company, weighed some 566 tonnes and was finished to a very high standard. She had a promenade deck with observation lounge and a large saloon, restaurant, tea room, smoking room and Ladies' room on the main deck. She operated an all-year round service between Portsmouth and Ryde on the the Isle of Wight before the outbreak of World War II. During the war she served first as a minesweeper, was converted into an anti-aircraft vessel and took part in the Normandy Landings in June of 1944 and was returned to her normal passenger service after the war in 1945. She was eventually replaced by more modern motor vessels but still operated occasionally as a relief vessel. I can remember as a young child the excitement, if when we travelled to the mainland we were fortunate enough to sail on the PS Ryde which was then the last Paddle Steamer working on the Solent.
