Burj Dubai - The highest tower of the world

by wil6ka

5 comments and 1 voteThe tallest of ´em all. Oil is money and money is useful. The sheikhs in Dubai understood that time is playing against them and that their oil-resources are vanishing sooner then they can count to three. Therefore they started to build the most astonishing buildings and sights to attract more and more tourists. They have the only 7star Hotel with the Burj al Arab. They have the island-groups the palm and the world in the shape of their names. Michael Schumacher and David Beckham will be neighbours on their private islands.

Pueblo Viejo de Belchite - La memoria histórica

by jelga

2 comments and 2 votesThere are actually two Belchites: the pueblo nuevo and the pueblo viejo, the new and the old village. The story of this site is the perfect example of the terrible consequences of a civil war. In August 1937, one year after the beginning of the Spanish war, the Republican forces tried to regain Belchite as a part of an offensive which should allow them to recover the city of Zaragoza, about 50 km away and capital of the region.

2 commentsA very good laboratory. I believe Kuala Lumpur City Centre is a very good spot for every Lomographer in Malaysia. Although it is a typical tourist sight, I still like to go shooting there, especially some experimental shots.

Tower of London

1 voteThe Tower of London is a great place, because it's full of history and it's a great place to take pictures. You have a castle and different sections to visit, from medieval arms to the jewels of the crown, and many other things. In the main building you can take pictures, even if there is not so much light... Outside, you got the guards of the Tower with their old- fashioned uniforms.

1 voteI went to Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago and was told to visit Spinnaker Tower. My first thought was: Oh, what a touristy rip-off, do I have to go there? But when I got to Portsmouth the first thing I saw was that enormous, futuristic-looking tower and I was immediately fascinated.

Views from Tibidabo

by vicuna
posted about 1 year ago
3 votesTibidabo is one of the highest hills surrounding the city of Barcelona (512 m) and is still very close to it to have one of the greatest views over the whole city. There is also a little attraction park, but more meant for children than to adults. You have also the great church of "Sagrat Chor" dominating the hill and not far from there the Colserrola Tower and the different tv and radio networks antennas.
