4 comments and 1 voteIn July 2009 I took an 8000 km road trip with my wife, two young children, and my mother- and father-in-law. Yes. That sounds a little crazy - but in order to keep my sanity (and test theirs) - I took along 10 cameras and 40 rolls of film. We passed through 10 American states and 3 Canadian provinces, and only 1 massive and fascinating carved mountain.

1 voteHigh Tatras (Vysoke tatry) in Slovakia are highest mountains in the country with its specific ecology and biological systems and endemics (there was a huge devastating storm in 2006 which destroyed half trees in the valleys). But i don't want to tell you about the nature.

2 commentsThe High Tatras are one of the smallest and, let's be honest, one of the cheapest to visit mountains in the whole Europe. But, mister Criticism, let's start things from another side. It has high altitudes, huge snow and brilliant skiing routes in winter, and it can offer beginner-intermediate routes for hiking in summer. What is more, the places are clean, beautiful and capturing the breath.
