Paragilding in The Bavarian Forest

by vicuna
posted 5 months ago
5 comments and 3 votesOne of the oldest human dreams is to fly like the birds. In the Greek mythology, Icarus and his father Daedalus tried to escape from their exile on the island of Crete by building themselves wings made out of feathers and wax.... but Icarus was so fascinated to feel like a bird that he came to close to the sun, the wax melted and he felt down in the sea.... Today, some crazy human beings are still trying to fly: the paragliders

The Pier of Nice

by vicuna
posted 8 months ago
5 comments and 4 votesThe pier of Nice is one of my favorite place to shoot: a beautiful place, the sea, boats & ferries, people, well, a perfect place to make pictures! The pier of Nice is located at the entry of the port and is a fascinating place to have a walk, meet with friends, have some nice time to sit down to look at the sea and the boats...

Truprint (35mm, 200 iso) user-review

8 comments and 6 votesSome friends of mine were clearing out some stuff at their house and found in the bottom of a drawer a bag of assorted films, an APS camera and lots of other bits and bobs. Knowing I am a photography addict, they decided to feed my addiction with the offer of these miscellaneous photo items. I obviously accepted their offer, and later that day I had finished my first choice of the films they had given me in my beloved LC-A +.

Atomium

by jelga
posted about 1 year ago
4 votesOh wow! This must be about my favorite place to take photos in Brussels - and I have actually never been inside! (too scared to get disappointed, I guess...). Let's start with some history: the atomium was built for the World's Fair held in Brussels in 1958. The 103 meter tall structure (which represents a unit cell of an iron crystal, in case you were wondering) was planned by André Waterkeyn and it was supposed to stand only for 6 months. That's why the building was in quite a sorry condition for years and had to undergo heavy renovation works a couple of years ago. Now its nine steel spheres are sound and shiny again, craving for photographs! It is also worth visiting after sunset, when the spheres are illuminated. Day or night, go there if you happen to be in Brussels...you will make some beautiful pics!

Bains des Pâquis

by libellule

8 submissionsLes Bains de Pâquis, one of the most trendy place in Geneva. The incontrovertible place to see. In summer it's very crowded, everyone looks for a little corner to put his towel, it smells like tanning oil all over the place, and you have to watch your feet to avoid burned creatures on the floor.
