220 Redscale For The Lubitel+

by mephisto19
posted 11 months ago
8 comments and 2 votesWe all love Lomo Redscale film, no question. And with the release of it, people asked if there will be a 120- redscale. Most probably not. It is not possible to shoot through the paper back, you would have to turn the film around during production (so maybe sometime in the future?).

The Lubitel + With 220 Film

by mephisto19
posted 12 months ago
14 comments and 4 votesWe all know that new Lubitel 166+ takes both 120 and 35mm films. But I have tried 220 film and it works too! 220 films are longer 120 films, but without the protecting paper. You can shoot twice as many images, but you have to do something about the red window on the back of the camera, because as the paper-protection is missing from the film, your shots will be nothing if you don’t cover it. But this creates another problem, how far should you advance the film? That is another technique. You just guess how far to forward the film, so you'll get lots of overlapping images!

Lubitel With a Plus

by mephisto19

2 commentsI found my first lubitel on ebay. She came from Ukraine and had the lovely name 166. Shipping cost more than the camera herself. She arrived and I saw she’d been used before. Some parts were a bit broken or missing. I shot a few rolls, always thinking about the shoot from the hip rule and have not been looking through the viewfinder.
