Placerville Wineries, California

by jblaze823
posted 9 months ago
2 votesIn the fall of 2008, my family and I decided to visit two wineries in Placerville, CA. These two wineries offered a wonderful experience for everyone. They were both very accommodating, served fantastic wines, and offered beautiful surrounding views. The first winery we visited was the Boeger Winery. It was the bigger and older of the two that we visited. It had a big old building on the grounds which used to be where they processed and bottled the wines, but now it used as one their two small tasting rooms.

3 comments and 3 votesWhen i moved to Bagarmossen, a little urban district in the south of Stockholm, I did not know of the Söderbysjön lake. But, as I saw all the other kids from school walking into the woods with towels and swimming wear I understood there was something special in there.

Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest

by dudgrickbevins
posted about 1 year ago“I think that I shall never see/ A poem lovely a tree/ A tree whose hungry mouth is prest/ Against the Earth’s sweet flowing breast.” Come on now… don’t act like you didn’t have to read that poem in freshmen lit! We all did! Maybe you had to memorize it; I don’t know, but I do know that Mr Joyce (he’s a dude) Kilmer did write it and everyone loved the poem SOOO much that they gave it (him and his poem) a memorial Forest – a nice one too.

FRIM

1 voteNature lover? Here is a great opportunity for you to experience the great flora and fauna paradise. Lomography lover? Here is a good spot for you to take some high quality pictures. Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) situated 600-ha site in Kepong, 16 km northwest of Kuala Lumpur is surrounded by Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve. Although it is a research institute, it has fascinating views and places which nature lover will easily fall for. Especially as a Lomography lover, you should not miss it. This place offers beautiful lakes, branches of trees and blooming flowers which turn out to be gorgeous on the pictures. As you are driving through the whole forest, you can see a lots of research buildings. Yet, those are not the things we are focusing on. The most important and special thing about FRIM, is the great view of the lakes and plants.

King's Forest at West Stow

1 voteIf you flew over East Anglia in a helicopter you'd see below you a dark and rather gloomy area of forest somewhere in the middle of the more usual fen and farming landscape. If you drove along the A11 to Norwich, you would drive through a desolate and unexciting section of the same dark, dripping pine forest. Either way, you wouldn't feel tempted to explore further, which would be a shame, as on the boundary of this admittedly uninviting forest is a place where a much older deciduous woodland still exists among the plantations of pine and fir.
