17 comments and 20 votesEver wonder how photographers like Edward Weston were able to get super high contrast black and white prints? It wasn't all in the printing, it wasn't all in the negative, and it wasn't all in the camera. You need all three and a wee bit of mathematics.

17 comments and 7 votesFrom time to time we are presented here at LSI with different ways of manipulating film; by peeing on it, scratching it, boiling it while putting our health at stake... but I don't think I have seen a single lab rat tips on things you can du to your prints. Most of us apparently have our own darkroom, since we can develop our own color/slide film after having peed on it, so why not show some printing tricks.

In the Shop: Looking Glass Photo

2 comments*Looking Glass Photo* of Berkeley, California has always been the spot to head when in the Bay Area looking for all things photographic. Hosting classes such as Pinhole Photography, this is one analog destination not to be missed. The staff consists of primarily photographers, giving you a chance to geek out and open up a dialogue on shutter speeds, aperture, film speed, and anything else a shutterbug can dream of. We caught up with owner Jen to find out more about the store, the Bay Area, and life behind the lens.
