    Aurora Province is located on the East-Central side of Luzon Island in the Philippines. Many of its municipalities were once part of Quezon Province. Aurora became an official province in 1979. This is why when I told some friends I went to Aurora, they said, “Oh you went to Quezon.” I had to correct them.

    What I thought to be ubiquitous in Philippine beaches are palm trees, but in Anawangin Cove there are more evergreen trees than palm trees growing on the sand. That's unusual, so my friends and I wanted to see the place. To get there, we took a bus from Manila to San Antonio in Zambales province. Then we took a tricycle to Pundakit beach where we hired a few small boats to take us to Anawangin.
