2 comments and 8 votesThere are few places in the world, which I have visited because of one pictures I have seen of it. Such a place is the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura. A colonial library in the centre of Rio. A couple of years ago I was intrigued by a massive grand format picture from Andreas Gursky. He is one of the most famous photographers of our time, he surely is the most expensive one. His technique is to manipulate and enlarge pictures. His topic is the gathering of large groups and the enhancements of architectonic structures. He also chose the Gabinete as a sujet and that was, why I went there.

But what are they reading? Are they even reading or are they just looking at the pictures? Are they comfortably at home in the living room sofa or in the library? Do they "shhhhhhhh" you away or smile for your picture? But don't limit your imagination to others, what about you? Do you read? In which position?

Bookstore Marianne Friedrich

one comment and 4 votesA place where you always find the right book or simply have a nice talk and sometimes a cup of tea. Marianne has a bookstore, its called Der Buchladen Marianne Friedrich. I got to know her a few years ago. She wanted me for organisation-team, so we got to know each other better. She is so nice. I really love to go to her bookstore, to buy a book (they always inform me very well and find EVERY book) or to drink tea and talk.
