From the black snow mountains on every corner, to the hordes of shoppers barrelling down 5th Avenue like bulls in Pomplona, to the taxis speeding through red lights faster than Rudolf on Sicilian espresso, there is nothing like the urban wonderland of a New York City winter.

2 comments, 8 submissions, and 2 votesConey Island is the world's center of Freak Show, the paradise for Lomoaddicts. If you really want to go to the past, with no need of using time machines, is as easy as taking the D, F, N or Q trains from Manhattan to Coney Island. During the journey, at least one hour long, you can even sightseeing Brooklyn.

Famous Lunch

by trabantdeluxe

2 votesFamous Lunch is unique amongst America fast food restaurants. It has been open in the same location in Troy, NY since 1932 and is, well...famous. In 1958, a US Marine from Troy was stationed at the US Embassy in Moscow, and had some of the hog dogs and "Zippy Sauce" shipped to Moscow for the Ambassador's birthday. "Operation Hot Dogs" made national headlines, and Famous Lunch became famous.
