Traditionally Vancouver does not get a lot of snow or any at all but this year 2ft of snow fell in the city itself, it made for hazardous traveling conditions with the airport delays, train cancellations, buses not running, cars being stranded everywhere. The City itself was unprepared.

7 comments and 3 votesJust under the Okavango delta lies Botswana's 5'th largest city Maun. This is the place to go if you're going to explore the safaris of Okavango, which is very recommendable. Maun is a very lokal and charming city, without the tourism ruining the spirit.

one commentIf you come to Düsseldorf, you'll probably want to see the Old Town. But when you're already there (and if the weather's only halfway decent) you should go down to the Rhine and stroll down the Rheinuferpromenade (Rhine Embankment Promenade).
