Australia Day is celebrated nation-wide on January 26th and commemorates the day the first fleet arrived in Sydney Cove, claiming Australia under British rule. On this day, you'll see a lot of green and gold and more southern-crosses than you will be able to count. This is my story about how my Australia Day was almost canceled last year.

It's that time of the year again when, on any given Friday or Saturday night in October, anywhere around the world, you could stumble upon a lederhosen clad lad and a dirndl dressed lass. Luckily, my birthday is also in October so last year, we were able to combine the two in my hometown on the Central Coast of Australia having a big Oktoberfest celebration.

A great reason to visit Kent's seaside in case you haven't been there before. For a lot of people, it’s hard to imagine that there is the possibility of a beautiful seaside life in England. Well they are wrong, because there is such a thing!

So when we were given this month's CitySlicker task the first thing that sprang to mind as something that made me instantly think of Leeds, was the Otley Run. It is the first thing you are introduced to when you move here as a student, and it is the place where a lot of bonding takes place!

Bay Harbour Market, truly organic and creative! I heard a lot about The Old Biscuit Mill Market of Cape Town, but I was glad we went to Bay Harbour Market instead. It truly has a community spirit and a very relaxed atmosphere, with almost no tourists at all.

You spend your holidays at the beach? Enjoy and bathe in the sun and then refresh yourself in the water? Well, that´s what most people do on the beach. Not me. Almost every time I travel to a beach I do this to do sports: I play Beach Ultimate. - Ultimate Frisbee played on the beach. Last year in August I played at the World Championships of Beach Ultimate in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. Read on how hard it is to run in the sun when everyone else on the beach is looking for shadow.

Lo and behold at the Crestview Train Station is Black Star Coop Brewery and Restaurant. Found on the Metro line, it's the only cooperatively-owned brewery across the globe. Pretty amazing to have a Coop Brewery open to anyone in the Austin community. I had a fresh beer in one hand and my lomo cameras in the other. I was one happy Lomographer!

It's finally here! Lomography is coming to Chicago!
