After cleaning my room a while back, I found a one-use camera that I hadn't gotten around to finish. I used up the rest of the film that weekend, and when my photos came back, I realized how much things had changed.

This is the start of my animation project: figuring out it's dynamics and nuances, how shooting to animate affects perception of static shooting, advantages and disadvantages of the method, and plans for the future of Animated Analogues.

Whenever I'm talking to people from other countries, as I say that I come from Italy everybody goes like "Wow, it must be a dream! The history, the food, the sun, the sea...". Well, it's not exactly like that. While the first two might be found everywhere in the "Bel Paese", in my region we don't have much sun, and we definitely have no sea either. Although I was lucky enough to discover a true gem not too far from the gray city I live in - Saint-Paul de Vence!

There is nothing better than to receive a fun disposable camera as laughable as this! This is quite a camera you would enjoy indeed!

At the end of 2008, I decided to embark on a year long project. I picked up a Rollei Retro 400 disposable camera for a good price at a local shop and chose a simple scene near my office that I would shoot every 15 days for a full year.

I bought the Konica APS Disposable camera out of a whim. I was browsing the online shop of lomography and the psychedelic sample photos of the Konica APS suddenly caught my eye. I dropped it to my cart immediately. After all, it cost only a dozen dollars!

With New Year's Eve fast approaching and a date with my boyfriend and his little sister in sight, I knew I was gonna need to capture all the different feelings of that night: closeness with family, excitement for the new year, reflection of the past, and a whole lotta chaos; I had to decide what camera(s) to have on me that would be versatile enough to handle the night. I then looked under our tree (it's fake...we tend to put off taking it down) and saw one of my favorite Christmas presents: a four pack of Lomolitos! I knew this would be the lucky night to break them in.
