Coming from a low light winter, it’s quite obvious that we change habits about photography when spring comes out. Analyzing the philosophy behind this behavior, there are so many reasons that justify a particular changing: from black and white during winter, to color (negative or positive) film.

An important memorial place for both Maori and New Zealanders, One Tree Hill is one of Auckland's largest intact volcanic cone. Sometimes, I get quite frustrated when looking at photos from other community members. It always seems to me like everybody lives in these big busy cities where there is something happening every single moment, where you can choose to walk a different road every day, where you can see new things every second. It isn't fair.

Plenty of people who live in a big city would love to have a quiet place on the countryside -- a nice place to relax and disconnect from the daily stress of city life. Preferably, this place is located just minutes from the city center and can easily be reached by public transport. Well, if you live in Barcelona you're in luck, because this place exists.

Winter is grey, at least in the north. With the cold and bare trees, Lorenzo decided to come and from the thin branches of a bare tree comes an explosion of color. If you have your camera with you will not be able to resist and you will take a picture. In any other case, you will go running to take any camera.

Winter in Finland means combination of three things – endless tracks, hours spent in the nature and of course skiing. People can be crazy about it. Count their kilometers or even the calories. However, I think the most beautiful feeling is when you stand on skis for the first time and every little success and moving forward bring you a feeling of a great achievement.

This last year was my first full year in this great community. I got in touch with very nice and interesting people around the globe and I saw many many great pictures which in fact wasn´t helpful for my bank account. I was really inspired by a lot of shots you took and so I badly had to buy this and that and try this or that. But thanks a lot for the input. Here, I want to show you my favorite shots of the last 12 months, one for each month, which is pretty hard to choose. You won't miss my best failures too, and the ones I like from the best of the community.

I came across the following photos, which I admired too much to not share them with you. The following photo selection includes shots taken with the LC-A, Horizon Perfekt, and LC-Wide. There aren't any traditional portraits because I like shadows, silhouettes, profiles, multiple exposures, movement. Enjoy the colors too, as you scroll down after the jump!
