My first film swap was a learning experiment. I swapped two rolls of medium format film with a fellow lomographer in Spain. We both used Diana F+ cameras and a Splitzer, and although the results left much to be desired, I can't wait to do my next film swap!

We are not only Lomographers, but we are Lomographers who love animals! They make for great photography subjects for one thing, on top of the love and joy they bring to our lives. We thought, well, how cool would it be to do a film swap specifically of our pets?! Check out the results after the jump.

We are pleased to show off the best results from the very first Chicago film swap with our fellow store in Singapore. Our community members have been working hard shooting the best of Chicago for the past 2 months and it’s time to show it off. Our store in Singapore will also be showing their work at their store on the same day. Join us for snacks and drinks for all ages, and some of the most interesting double exposures you will ever see. We may be on the opposite side of the world, but we will share one special night together.

First time I used this film was three years ago, a friend of mine sent this roll for doubles. She said that this roll was already exposed and I have to expose it too with my Horizon. To shorten the story, we are doing a film swap or doubles so nothing new, but when I received the result from the photo lab, it was the perfect combination between Lomography Redscale 100 and the Horizon Perfekt! What a surprise!

'I want to travel to Greece, Hong Kong, Macau, London, Korea, Japan...' I believe that many people are same like me, wishing to travel around with their beloved analogue cameras to many cities and countries. But in real life, we might be unable to travel to our dream cities or countries in just a short time. But no worries, we can travel to many cities and countries through lomographs now.

Film swaps...a year ago, I had no idea what the term meant. But now I do! I have done a couple of them, both national and international. And I can say one thing: they are fun, exciting, and best of all, surprising!

There is no doubt that doubles are fun when shot randomly. The thought that you don’t have any idea on what you are shooting adds surprise that we lomographers love. But sometimes, experimenting and having themes or concepts when shooting doubles helps in producing beautiful results.

Here at Lomography Gallery Store Santa Monica we teamed up with Lomography Gallery Store West Hollywood for this film swap workshop. Our West Hollywood staff shot some super special rolls of film for us, but before we developed, we asked participants to shoot the second layer! Double exposure goodness and surprises were in store!
