Yesterday, the photographic world sat in awe as news broke of the world’s most expensive camera sale. It happened at the WestLicht Photographica auction in Vienna, coincidentally also the home of Lomography HQ. The prototype 0-series Leica 35mm camera sold for a staggering €2.16 million (or £1.73 million); one of only 25 editions produced for testing in 1923, the world-record camera is thought to be one of only 12 to have survived.
