A very simple film to fall in love with! A perfect pairing with the sun and light. You won't be disappointed with this baby :-)

There was a range of ultra-low iso slidefilms for artificial Tungsten light from Kodak that delivers all kinds of color-nuances and shades. These films were quite durable and stable, so they were actually quite suitable for many kinds of weather conditions and photojournalists, that always had to be sure that they can deliver results whenever it's needed. One of my favourites in this row must be the Kodak Ektachrome 320ET - a true survivor.

It seems like it was a very long time ago, but it has only been 3 months since I first got my hands on a true Lomo-camera, a gorgeous Black Jack Diana F+. Having browsed the Lomography site quite a bit, I had seen a lot of beautiful redscale shots, and I decided that the Lomography Redscale 100 ISO was going to be my first film. This is a very easygoing film that turned out to be a good choice for a newbie like me.

Springing spring comes always when you need it. After a cold winter (well, now I live in Lisbon, so it was not so cold), bright days start to come. Light is important for photographers, in particular according to the Lomo-philosophy of going outside instead of photographing in a studio.

Coming from a low light winter, it’s quite obvious that we change habits about photography when spring comes out. Analyzing the philosophy behind this behavior, there are so many reasons that justify a particular changing: from black and white during winter, to color (negative or positive) film.

There is a rumor that the most beautiful photos are taken in the light of the morning and in the evening. You can destroy this thought with light painting technique.

I loved my Minolta x-700 camera from the very first time I started shooting. It goes well with all films, but what it does with Tungsten film is what I love the most.

Golden Rule #2 - Use it any time – day and night. So let's apply it. Especially in the night. Let see, things I usually do in the night with my camera...

Love for natural light is something we can't deny, but sometimes, we would also love to play with artificial light while doing some neat and skillful analogue photography!

This last year was my first full year in this great community. I got in touch with very nice and interesting people around the globe and I saw many many great pictures which in fact wasn´t helpful for my bank account. I was really inspired by a lot of shots you took and so I badly had to buy this and that and try this or that. But thanks a lot for the input. Here, I want to show you my favorite shots of the last 12 months, one for each month, which is pretty hard to choose. You won't miss my best failures too, and the ones I like from the best of the community.

"Papier à êtres" are handmade paper creations of two artists who complement each other: Frédéric makes the structure and Sophie gives life to them, creating the character. These bright sculptures can be graceful ladies or imaginary creatures, lightening up and enchanting even the darkest corner.

If the standard, X-mas fairy-lights are too normal for you, Hong Kong's WinterFest 2012 will provide you with a new holiday experience! Events such as an open-top bus night tour and harbour night cruise will give you must-photo memories of the harbor city!

If you have a camera with the ability to do back light metering, you can increase your ability to capture the pictures you really want.

Some people hate it, while some people don't. The measure of light in a Lomograph when it is too much might be a mistake but worry not for it can also be really beautiful!

Fritz, as I call him, is my ever dependable light companion. Wherever I go, I always make sure I bring one flash with me, so I wont feel bad that it took me until night time to shoot, or whenever the subjects I want to take be inside a dim- lighted room. Like the famous tagline of a deodorant, I'm sure Fritz wont let err light you down!

There are landscapes that cause sensations and feelings in us that don't go unnoticed. Those capable of portraying them are also capable of transporting us to to those landscapes.

All too often we wonder how some of our fellow Lomographers achieve super-fantastic otherwordly results. Thanks to Crack The Code, they reveal their secrets for everyone to appreciate their great technique and fantasy but also to try out for themselves. Light can be a photographer's best friend when it comes to capturing scenic panoramas. But when it comes to processing films in the darkroom, you should consider light to be your worst enemy! Make sure your lightproof your darkroom so that there is not a single light that can sneak up and ruin your photos.
