At first sight, the city of São Paulo seems very gray -- grayer than any other Brazilian city. But first looks can be very deceiving... A group of street artists has taken it upon themselves to fill the streets with color. Especially in the Vila Madalena neighborhood the walls are covered in graffiti.

Someone said to me, or maybe I read it that this is the biggest graffiti wall in the Iberian Peninsula. I can't be sure of that, neither the length of it, but it is huge!

A lot of people like hanging up a few movie posters in their place to pay tribute to the flicks that they really like. A Belgian street artist took his appreciation for the silent movie Metropolis even further and created a huge drawing inspired by the movie on a large window in the Belgian city of Bruges.

Fado is a Portuguese traditional music genre, added in 2011 to the list of World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. It has always been present in Portuguese art, from past centuries paintings to today's modern graffiti walls.

When you visit Lisbon, you must ride the typical funicular, "Elevador da Glória". My suggestion, if you are a street art lover, is to go up in the funicular (Lisbon streets are very steep!) and come down walking to enjoy the art.

In only the last 10 or so years, street art has gone from the 'vandalising' of tags to a celebrated art form in Melbourne. Hosier Lane is one of the most popular places to find some street art and is also very centrally located across from Federation Square in the city center. I headed here on a walking tour of the city and here is what I found.
