Diana Mini isn’t the best choice for dark Finnish winter, so I decided to get something brighter. Budget was low and this Soviet wonder seemed to be just what I wanted..but was it after all?

I love to take images in black and white, especially for street photography and public events. My preferred film brand is Ilford, and I use mainly the classic FP4+ and HP5+ films. Sometimes, I love to use the fine grain Delta 100, especially when I want to avoid grain, when I need to print in large size (20x30cm or more) and in situation of high contrast.

I am excited to share my 2013 Analogue Bucket List, as I am new to Lomography and, through Lomography, am making a return to film for the first time in about 15 years. I am excited to explore lo-fi, multiple exposures, and variances in film.

Read on to find out what she thinks of this Soviet gem and browse through the band's photo gallery.

I was ecstatic to find an old Fed 3 going cheap in a thrift store. Some real Soviet-era heavy metal for my collection of cameras. It looked great. Nice clear lens, shiny chrome bits, and everything seemed to move as it should. So I bought it and took it home.

My family in Ukraine knows that I love soviet cameras and sent me a Fed 2

Strikingly modern architecture colliding with heavy brickwork from 1906 on the Copenhagen waterfront. There's a cafe, a concert hall, and The National Museum of Photography. And of course there are books too!

This little baby cost me $25 on ebay. It's a great almost-point-and-shoot camera for lower speed films, and a fantastic alternative to an LC-A if the $100-$250 is a little steep for you. It's a little larger than an LC-A, but the freedom of the battery-less selenium light meter more than makes up for that!

800,000 seals shouting is a scene you cannot avoid shooting.

It is claimed that after we have World War 3 the only things that will survive are cockroaches, I am inclined to disagree. I believe that the other thing that will survive a nuclear war is: The Fed 3.

Go negative, think positive. This humble roll of color print film may be easy on your pockets (just a dollar a roll), but it can certainly pack a punch.

Pros: it is sexy! Cons: it may scratch your glasses... :-( The first time a FED-1 is in your hands you only can say: “Wow!”. It’s heavy, is cool, is nice, is perfect…
