Last weekend saw the celebration of Chinese New Year (it is now the Year of the Snake for those who are interested) so me and my other half headed off to Manchester to spend some time in Chinatown there.

If you're looking for a nice weekend getaway, Northport is your answer! It's a small cottage town located on the western tip of the Grand Traverse Bay, it provides a great canvas for some lake/rugged-themed for photography.

It has been a long time since I harassed all you Northern Lomo geeks for a meetup so I feel that now would be a suitable time to get on it. Let’s do Liverpool in February.

This summer, I found myself in Tasiilaq, Greenland. This metropole is the capitol of the east side of Greenland. Here are a few of my impressions.

The northwest corner of Europe, Cape Wrath in Scotland. In medieval times, this was the untamed and inhospitable boundary of man's knowledge of Earth. The Edge of The World. Today, it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet...on a good day.

So when we were given this month's CitySlicker task the first thing that sprang to mind as something that made me instantly think of Leeds, was the Otley Run. It is the first thing you are introduced to when you move here as a student, and it is the place where a lot of bonding takes place!

The Atlantic Sea plays a very important role in Portugal’s history and culture. In Minho, the pleasant weather and aged villages result in the perfect combination. The moment I return to my country, this is the city that I want to live in: Viana do Castelo.

Lo and behold at the Crestview Train Station is Black Star Coop Brewery and Restaurant. Found on the Metro line, it's the only cooperatively-owned brewery across the globe. Pretty amazing to have a Coop Brewery open to anyone in the Austin community. I had a fresh beer in one hand and my lomo cameras in the other. I was one happy Lomographer!

For our trip to Arkhangelsk in the deep of winter, my girlfriend and I made sure that we dressed warmly to keep ourselves from freezing to death.

Recently my girlfriend invited me to spend New Year's holidays in the north of Russia, in Severodvinsk. I have never been there and I was so glad to visit it. We bought tickets, brandy, and warm sweaters.

For many years i have traveled that same road while going to visit relatives in the north of England, always passing familiar landmarks, but none as familiar as this. The Angel of the North, designed by Antony Gormley stands at the top of the hill next to the A1 on the outskirts of Gateshead, Newcastle. At least 90,000 motorists a day pass by this 208 tonne angel as it welcomes them to "the North". Its wings are 54 meters wide (similar to a jumbo jet), so not seeing this landmark is not an option for those who pass by. She also marks the spot where (below her) coal miners worked for over 200 years.
