“The biggest clipper constructed in the 20th Century”. With these resounding words appears one of the most elegant sailing ships that had furrowed the Ría de Vigo.

We can say that this is a "live" location. In the 50s there were facilities for one of the great fishing companies in the world. Its installations were turned into a big abandoned building 20 years ago. Once thrown below the old building, it has eventually become the "Conference hall" of the city of Vigo.

200 years ago, the water of the Ría de Vigo, was coming to a beach placed to the feet of the little houses that today we see full of restaurants, banks and a richest pastry shop!

This area of the city of Vigo owes his origin to the street that communicates the quarters of O Berbés and Bouzas. His name is “Orillamar“, in Spanish or “Beiramar“ in Galician. If we wanted to translate it into English, it would be something similar to “Bythesea“. It is a route of four rails (two in every sense), which passes parallel to the Ría of Vigo.

Since the world is world, cities grow and grow, and grow again. Some towns come to absorb other smaller that surround them. This is our life… That is what happened in Vigo during the last centuries. Bouzas is a part of Vigo, with its own history, but now part of this great city of Galicia.

Students come and go, some studying, others ,,, only come and go!
Universidad de Vigo is characterized by geographical dispersion of its sites. It has three campuses located in three cities in the south of Galicia: the Campus of Vigo, in part at As Lagoas-Marcosende and partly in the city center (Torrecedeira), Campus of Ourense and Pontevedra (A Xunqueira ).

Vigo is the biggest town in the Northwest of Spain. Whooo!!! There are a lot of peculiar things in our town: Boats, graffiti, Commercial areas, rubbish, misery, happiness, parties, ducks in the gardens, big squares, little ones, … I think that you can meet all you need (more or less …)
