At the beginning of every roll, you take that first test shot to make sure that the film is properly fed into the camera. Most of the time, the first frame turns out to be overexposed nothingness. Sometimes, it's a significantly light burned photo that leaves you thinking of "what might have been."

I love using my Holga to shoot long exposure portraits because it gives very dreamy and mysterious results. Many might think it is hard, but it is actually very easy and fun!

A simple way to repair the holes (more or less deep) in the rubberised curtains of a shutter. Often these holes are located on the second curtain, that is rolled up when the shutter is not cocked, causing annoying light leaks. With a little patience it is possible to repair it, reviving cameras otherwise destined only to be shown in a cabinet.

Here at the Lomography Gallery Store Gramercy, we are all about our community and sharing our love for analog photography with anyone who wants to join! We have a group of regulars from the local Fashion Institute of Technology lead by Curtis Willocks, a professor at the school, who stop by to borrow cameras from us through our Lend-a-Lomo program for various special events and fun activities. Recently, we gathered up all of our favorite cameras and sent these lovers of analog out shooting!

I have a good idea on how to give colour to my boring room. It is by making artworks. I am onto my second piece when I thought of transforming my Lomographic photo into another form of art, a painting. I wanted to incorporate my love for lomography into other things as well.

On Saturday, May 26th, the NYC Lomography Gallery Store in Gramercy taught a special group of university students from Baruch College how to manipulate their first medium format Diana F+ cameras. These students came through the AIESEC program from all over the world to join us in New York city! We wanted to show them the city Lomography style, and thus loaded them up with 120 film in our very own Diana F+ cameras!

It's been 6 months since Lomography opened our doors here in San Francisco! The Vivitar IC 101 is a very, very cheap camera with a wide lens. Mine was panoramic until I got the knife out. Once modified it distorts but surprisingly doesn't vignette.
-
Some may hate it and think of it as an awful mistake. A miserable effect brought by some bad move in analogue photography. While others, hail it and accept it as part of this mysterious challenge we call Lomography!
-
I'm new to Lomography and I've been using the Smena 8M. I want others to know why I feel this camera is worthwhile. Don't think just shoot is not easy to apply to this kind of camera as it is very experimental. Just like doing an experiment when you got the variables to alter and adjust.

Although I can't remember how I came to know about the Holga, I know that I instantly wanted one. In a short time I was ready to dive into all things Holga. It wasn't exactly love at first sight, but after my second roll of film...there was no going back.

As a Christmas gift to myself, I purchased my first medium format film camera, a Diana F+ CMYK. The Lomography Color Negative 400 120 film was the very first film I used with my Diana F+ and I was absolutely happy with the results! It's the perfect film for different lighting conditions.
-
I bought this old ORWO color negative film from the junk dealer of our city. I got really crazy results!

Never have I been more excited and motivated to snap more shots than I ever, until I received my roll of cross-processed Kodak Elitechrome EBX from the photo lab!

This is the first in a series of articles on different analog cameras that I'm testing these days. It's not a exhaustive technical analysis, but rather a list of technical characteristics of each camera and my personal opinion after using it with only one film each. Hope this helps to know a little more these cameras.

I have found tape invaluable. I now keep a huge roll in my bag at all times and I find new uses all the time. I hope to show a few different ideas especially when using a PC adapter.
