Last weekend saw the celebration of Chinese New Year (it is now the Year of the Snake for those who are interested) so me and my other half headed off to Manchester to spend some time in Chinatown there.

While rolling the dice on Wikipedia I came across a delightful article on the Camera Obscura in San Francisco, overlooking Ocean Beach. It's on the US National Register of Historic Places. This lead me to wonder what other famed large-scale Camera Obscuras, past and present, there were out there...

Looking back on this year I know I will not remember it by the month, rather by the place that I was. I was extremely lucky this year to start the year where I come from in Australia, finish it in London, Canada where I now call home and visit a bunch of places in between.

Half of my family are from Kent, England and it's only in recent years that I have been able to visit. I've been there three times and I stayed at my Aunt and Uncle's house for part of the time. In terms of photography, Autumn is my favorite season, the colors are beautiful, the light is hazy, and all the places that seem so familiar to you seem to look different, more magical perhaps.

Every day I walk the same way to work and each day is completely different. As the days get shorter, the mornings get darker, and I am greeted with the most beautiful sunrises.

Summer is over. But we'll always have its memories thanks to lomography we have done. Today I feel so melancholic remembering 2011 summer, so I'm going to tell you how it was, well, how it ended.

A fine weekend in London with nothing but blazing sun and blue skies! Highly unlikely I know, but a great chance to try out my first roll of Lomography Redscale 100 in my Holga GN 120. The results raised the question: will there ever be enough light for Lomography Redscale 100?

Retronaut is a website dedicated to archiving weird, wonderful, and historic photographs from the last 200 years. Included in this vast collection are the photos of London from 1913, raunchy fashion shoots from the 1920’s, futuristic designs from 1962, and everything you could possibly imagine in between.
