When visiting "Parque das Nações" in Lisbon, the former location of the Expo98, no one can resist taking a picture of the colorful, water-spitting volcanoes.

2012 is the year of the Lomograph! And to celebrate here are my top seven places to visit this coming year.

Not only a place of memory, but also an open-air circus. At 8 hectares (20 acres), the octagonal Place de la Concorde is the largest square in Paris. It is situated between the Tuileries and the Champs-Elysées. What is now a place for taking pictures with the Eiffel Tower on the horizon, as well as a reforming place for all sorts of street artists, is actually a place of great heritage.

A park with an elaborate giant golden water fountain, a lake, a zoo, and a museum!

If you have been enthusiastic enough to travel to Venice to visit St Petersburg, you should travel 30km to the Russian Versailles called Peterhof.

The funny thing about Hollywood - the town, not the idea - is that it actually has very little to do with the entertainment industry. Hollywood and Highland is ridiculous, mass-produced, candy-colored, jammed-together, and yet it is a carnival of inauthenticity, not unlike the entertainment industry itself.

Almost twenty five years ago in my town somebody spread rumours about new place to take time. This engaged local artists, specifically literates, to organize night verse reading which met with great success.

By now you know my story: July 2009, 8000 km road trip, 3 generations, 1 van. Crazy? Yes. Lomographically limited? In no way whatsoever! I took along 10 cameras and 40 rolls of film. We passed through 10 American states and 3 Canadian provinces, and we only stopped at McDonalds twice...

The Körnerpark may be quite small, but it has a lot to offer.

The LandMark of Macau! You cant say you've been to Macau, if you were not able to set foot in the famous Senado Square and took a picture with a background of the fountain. All the events and happenings are most likely staged here. Its a historical tourist spot, not to be missed!

Built in honor of Cebu's "Grand Old Man", Sergio Osmeña - the fourth president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines - and to commemorate the city's first waterworks system, Fuente Osmeña is a fountain rotunda where Cebu's major thoroughfares converge: Gen. Maxilom Avenue (aka Mango Avenue), Osmeña Boulevard (aka Jones Avenue, towards downtown) and B. Rodriguez Street. The oval was built in 1912.

I must say I have a bit of poor luck with this attraction. My friends and I planned to go to this magic fountain on our first evening, however, before the performance started we decided to grab a meal and go back. Then here comes the pouring rain, getting lost around the back streets, very quiet place... etc etc. all those frustrating moments. We cannot go back to see the performance on time. Argh... Can you believe our luck? Raining our first evening, when we wish to enjoy the sunshine that London doesn't have.
